Beneath the Obsidian

from KNIFEHAMMER by Death of Kings

/
  • Death of Kings
    Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Limited to 500 copies pressed on GLOW IN THE DARK VINYL

Conjuring an unholy hybrid of traditional heavy metal and modern thrash components, Death of Kings assaults the senses with an onslaught of dueling guitars, a pummeling rhythm section, and ferocious vocals.
Scorching the earth since their 2009 inception, Death of Kings has been a forceful presence in the Southeast, sharing stages with current metal headliners including Skeletonwitch, 3 Inches of Blood, and Mastodon, as well as legendary acts such as Morbid Angel and DRI.
With 2 self-released EPs under their belt, their Boris Records debut 7" continues to showcase their focus on creating dynamic heavy metal for the ages.  The title track, "Knifehammer," instantly demands your attention, with blazing guitar and bass solos and punishing percussion from start to finish, leaving you begging for more.  Proceed to the B-side, "Beneath the Obsidian," only to be forcibly greeted by the unrelenting pounding of drums and guitars, matched only by an anguished vocal delivery that paints  an entirely different range at which the band equally excels.

Includes unlimited streaming of KNIFEHAMMER via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

lyrics

Forever lost to me, taken before my eyes.
Find a way to travel to where things were right - Lost in darkness, the void takes me
I close my eyes to see this string, this noose, ensnares me. Unraveling my destiny
Strung along by hope, hung my neck in despair.
You'll never be whole, this fate is perpetual - Calming me in silent dark oblivion
I close my eyes to see these paths are written, fate haunts me. Time unravels, I yearn for death
I close my eyes to see this loneliness now sustains me
No peace I find - lost inside my mind - made to watch, you die, suffer endlessly forever
I close my eyes to see - blind to things in front of me, so close within my grasp
This life must die so that you may live. Somewhere I'll find you, searching forever
